Abstract

In EFL classrooms, multilingual learners face many challenges. The study aimed to explore the challenges of the inclusion of multilingual learners in EFL classrooms. The data is collected from the students at university level through a Survey. The mix method approach is used to analyze the data. The findings of the study identified linguistic diversity, cultural differences, lack of confidence, and communication barriers as the major challenges faced by EFL learners in classrooms. The study explored that in multilingual settings, lack of confidence has a very negative impact on students’ engagement in classrooms and interferes with their overall learning experiences. The study also revealed that issues related to social integration also create complications as learners may feel isolated and discriminated. The study recommends to address the aforementioned challenges in order to create a more conducive and inclusive environment for EFL learners.
